Housing Assistance
Emergency On-Campus Housing
Immediate, emergency housing for students in crisis. Students may have access to university-owned housing for up to 7 days.
To refer or request assistance, COMPLETE A CARE REFERRAL or contact the Office of the Dean of Students during business hours at (773)-508-8840.
Referrals or requests outside of normal business hours can be made using the form above or by contacting Campus Safety at (773)-508-7233.
Illinois House Act
The Illinois Public Act 102-0083 requires all institutions of higher education to designate a staff member as the Housing and Opportunities that are Useful for Students’ Excellence (HOUSE) liaison to assist students who are experiencing homelessness. At Loyola University Chicago, the HOUSE Liaison is Dr. Will Rodriguez, Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students.
Students experiencing housing insecurity or students who know of a peer who needs help with housing may contact Dr. Rodriguez or any staff member in the Office of the Dean of Students by submitting a CARE Referral. You can also reach the office at (773)508-8840 or by sending an email to deanofstudents@luc.edu.
Off-Campus Housing Resources
- Place 4 Students is a platform designed for Loyola students to find apartments in the Rogers Park and Edgewater neighborhoods. When utilizing this website, be sure to create a profile and use your Loyola email so that the webpage recognizes you as a Loyola student. You can use this site to find a roommate and secure an apartment off-campus.

- Chicago Affordable Housing List The Department of Planning and Development (DPD) works to develop and support affordable housing initiatives citywide. This website allows you to find available and affordable housing in the city of Chicago.
- IL Dept of Human Services Housing Resources provides a robust list of housing programs and services. Please explore this site as there are many specific categories for students looking for individual housing, family housing, etc.
